The bellyband has definitely become a staple accessory to my outfits so much that I bought a second one in white. It has become impossible to close jeans on their own and it's more obvious now that I'm pregnant.
The week of the 19th was pretty busy for us as we've been trying to finalize a offer on a house and close in mid April so of course that back and forth of negotiations, inspection, banks were at the forfront of our minds and time.

We finally reached week 20, the halfway mark! It does kind of seem like I've been pregnant forever already even though we still have another 18-20 weeks left. It's good to enjoy the time we have still, doing things that we'll probably not really get to do too much anymore, at least in the same way. For example, we love to unwind at the end of the day and just stretch out on the couch and watch some Frasier and although we might still do that after the baby comes, I'm sure we'll be exhausted! There's always that bittersweet feeling of knowing things will never be the same.
I went to the doctor for my 20-week checkup March 5th, and this is when they did the fetal survey which means they measure the baby and make sure all looks ok. So, the ultrasound was a lot longer and I got to see the baby's brain and organs and arms and legs. They also confirmed the baby's gender and it is for certain a boy! The baby was so active during the ultrasound I could see on the monitor when it was kicking because one second before I would feel the kick. I even got to look at his face and kind of see his eye area, nose and mouth. He, even at one point yawned, at least that's what the tech said. She caught a picture in which you can kind of see it. A little alien-y looking, I must admit.

I started to have more trouble sleeping as the pregnancy pillow is kind of uncomfortable and not as helpful as I hoped and if I sleep on my right, my sciatica nerve starts zinging and if I sleep on my left, my rib cage starts burning for some reason. I asked the doctor about this but she didn't seem concerned. Although, I don't know if she even heard me in the 30 seconds she devoted to me in our appointment. Hopefully, it's nothing and will pass.
I'm currently in my 21st week now, approaching 22 and things are continuing to go smoothly, thank God. I feel pretty good, although a little more tired than usual and the baby kicks and moves all the time. I don't know if this means anything or it is normal for this early on, but hopefully he'll be a calm, quiet baby when he gets out :)! Robert has finally been able to feel several of the kicks because it seems everytime he tries to feel him moving the baby moves away or stops kicking.
The baby should be between 8-10 inches now and weigh almost 1lb. That's crazy to think how much bigger he'll keep growing and how your skin will need to stretch to accomodate. As you can see I'm looking a bit bigger- I'm hoping it all baby weight, not cookie weight ;-)!
